STANDARDS OF REVIEW

Basic standards of review in “Studia i Materiały Instytutu Transportu i Handlu Morskiego” [“Studies and Papers of the Institute of Maritime Transport and Seaborne Trade”].

  1. Two independent reviewers (external to the research centre with which the Author is affiliated) are selected to review each article.
  2. In the case of texts written in a foreign language, at least one of the reviewers should be affiliated with a foreign institution other than that with which the Author is affiliated.
  3. The Authors and reviewers do not know each other’s identity (double-blind review process).
  4. In other cases, the reviewer will sign a declaration of no conflict of interest; a conflict of interest is considered to exist where one of the following is true:
  • Author and reviewer are personally related (kinship, legal relationship, conflict),
  • Author and reviewer have an employee / employer relationship,
  • Author and reviewer have, within the last two years prior to the review, engaged in scientific collaboration.
  1. Articles are reviewed in writing, resulting in their acceptance, rejection or request for corrections.
  2. The rules for admission or rejection of an article are published on the website together with a review form.
  3. The names of reviewers are not disclosed. Once a year, the Editorial Board will publish a list of all reviewers it collaborates with.
